John Shaw is an associate attorney at Whitaker Chalk Swindle & Schwartz, PLLC where he focuses on civil and business litigation. John joined Whitaker Chalk in December 2012 after spending more than five years with Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas, a non-profit public interest law firm, where he supervised a labor and employment program called project HIRED (Helping Individuals Remove Employment Disadvantages).
John has been a member of TCYLA since 2007 and has served on the board since 2009. In 2012 he was elected to serve a two year term on the board of directors of the Texas Young Lawyers Association representing District 10, Place 2. Additionally, John serves on the board of directors of a non-profit law firm based in Austin, Texas called Texas Legal Services Center (TLSC). TLSC provides assistance and training to poverty law advocates and their clients in the areas of litigation support, education and communication.
