Membership to the Fort Worth-Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association is based on the fiscal year of September 1 through August 31 of each year. For the current Membership Application, please click here. Eligibility is for attorneys 36 years of age and younger, or licensed to practice law less than 10 years. Dues are $50 per fiscal year for attorney members; $20 for government attorneys; $20 Law Students; and $45 for either Associate Members (not licensed by the State Bar of Texas) or Affiliate Members (attorneys with 10 years or more of practice or out-of-county).

Member participation is appreciated, and is to the members advantage in learning the legal community. Committee involvement includes the following:

Annual CLE: This committee plans and coordinates the annual, half-day continuing legal education seminar provided to the membership.

Community Service: This committee coordinates the community service events for FW-TCYLA. Past projects have included Lawyers as Leaders, Liberation Clinic, National Adoption Day, and Santa Claus Comes to Court.

Golf Tournament: This committee plans the annual FW-TCYLA Golf Tournament, including coordinating the location, rules, prizes and lunch. The golf tournament has grown into a great event to help raise funds for the organization as well as the FW-TCYLA Schlarship Fund.

Membership/Member Services: This commitee works on projects directed at meeting the specific needs of FW-TCYLA members. Projects for this committee include: Monthly CLE Luncheons, Monthly Socials, , Clerkship Initiative, Fall Fete, and the YLA Mentorship Program.

NICA: This committee plans and coordinates the annual NICA Holiday Party.

Scholarship Committee: This committee works on the FW-TCYLA scholarship application process, reviews the applications and chooses the recipient.

School Projects: This committee coordinates school projects sponsored by FW-TCYLA and acts as a liaison between the organization and the local school districts. Projects for this committee have included Teen Court, Mock Trial, VoTexas, Supreme Team, T.A.S.T.E. and College for a Day.

Spring Fiesta: This committee coordinates the annual Spring Fiesta event. The committee also works with area Bar Associations to coordinate joint events.

TWU Law School: This committee coordinates projects with TWU Law School. Projects for this committee have included the Mock Interview Program, frequent lectures, orientation events, and the TWU Mentorship Program.
