Mind always busy? Looking for tools to calm the mind and get rid of anxiety? So many of us miss the life that is unfolding before us because we are caught up in the whirlwind of our own thoughts and the frantic world around us. Living in the present can reduce stress and anxiety by calming the mind, as well as add a sense of meaning and purpose to the life we are creating. This experiential workshop will give you simple tools that you can start using on your own to alleviate stress, calm your mind, and live a more purposeful life, starting today.

Dr. Kathryn Soule, Phd, LPC is a licensed counselor specializing in alleviating anxiety, including stress, panic attacks, OCD, phobias, and trauma. She uses mindfulness tools to help clients calm anxiety in the present and cutting-edge EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapy to help clear the roots of anxiety. She received her bachelors degree in psychology from UT Austin, her masters degree in psychology from Columbia University and her doctorate in counseling from Texas Tech, where she has since served on the faculty as an adjunct professor. While living in New York, she gained experience at Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan and Safe Horizon domestic violence shelter in Brooklyn. She co-authored a book chapter with Dr. Judy Kuriansky about the counseling model used in her nationally syndicated call-in radio show, Love Phones with Dr. Judy and Jagger. Since returning to her native Texas, she has worked with a number of wonderful non-profit organizations in Fort Worth including The Women’s Center Rape Crisis Services, The WARM Place grief support center, and Trauma Support Services of North Texas. She has become a frequent speaker on mindfulness techniques, having first discovered the power of the present through Buddhist meditation classes. She is a featured meditation teacher on the app Insight Timer, where thousands of people have listened to her guided meditations all over the world. She maintains a private practice in southwest Fort Worth helping clients tame anxiety and find happiness.
