Please join us March 12, 2024, for TCYLA’s CLE Luncheon at Reata as we welcome Lu Pham of Pham Harrison, LLP presenting:  “Employment Law Updates and Latest Trends. ”  

Lu is a founding partner of Pham Harrison, LLP. Lu’s practice is focused on employment and commercial litigation, and he has been involved in the defense of several class actions concerning employment and commercial disputes.  A former Adjunct Law Professor at Texas Wesleyan School of Law and former Municipal Judge for the City of Grand Prairie, he was named a Super Lawyer by Texas Lawyer magazine featuring the top 5% of attorneys in Texas—for 2004-2020.  Lu has also been awarded by the National Association of Pacific Asian Bar Association as one of the Best Lawyers Under 40 in 2002.  Lu is also the President of the Tarrant County Bar Association.

Please join us on July 18, 2023 for TCYLA’s CLE Luncheon at Reata as we welcome Paul H. Farmer, Jr. of Bonds Ellis Eppich Schafer Jones LLP presenting: "Privacy in Practice: The Texas Data Privacy & Security Act.”  

Paul is an associate attorney and certified information privacy professional.  As an advocate, he has represented clients in the courts and through negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. As an advisor, he has counseled start-ups, companies, government agencies, and fiduciaries. He has experience across a wide variety of industries, including finance, construction, education, and entertainment.  Paul received his law degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, and his undergraduate from Clemson University.

TCYLA CLE Luncheon - “Attorney’s Fees in Texas: Welcome to the Lode Star State”

Please join us on June 20, 2023, for TCYLA’s CLE Luncheon at Reata as we welcome Jody Sanders presenting: "Attorney's Fees in Texas: Welcome to the Lode Star State".

Mr. Sanders is a partner in Kelly Hart's appellate section representing clients in trial courts throughout the state, as well as appeals and original proceedings in Texas's intermediate court of appeals, the Texas Supreme Court, and federal appellate courts. Mr. Sanders is called frequently to assist other litigators in drafting dispositive motions, ensuring error preservation, and handling trial and post-trial proceedings to prepare for potential appeal. Mr. Sanders received his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center, and his undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University.

Cali Franks is a litigator who now curates CLEs for lawyers across the country. She devotes her time to listening to the needs and concerns of lawyers and learning about their areas of practice. Born and raised in DFW, Cali is a first-generation college and law school graduate; she attended the University of Texas and St. Mary’s University School of Law.

She is the daughter of a firefighter and an oil and gas saleswoman, both of whom instilled the drive, passion, and dedication Cali carries into her legal career and bar service. Cali is passionate about serving young lawyers through programming, spotlighting the work of young lawyers, and supporting local affiliates.

CLE Luncheon - "Bonds, Inventories, & Accounting”

Please join us on April 18, 2023, for TCYLA’s CLE Luncheon at Reata as we welcome Judge Steve King, Senior Probate Judge presenting:  “Bonds, Inventories, & Accountings.”  A native of Graham, Texas, Judge King graduated from the University of Texas and Baylor Law School, then practiced in Fort Worth for 17 years before being elected Judge of Tarrant County Probate Court Number One in 1994.  He served in that capacity for six terms, stepping down in 2018.

Judge King previously served as:

  • Presiding Judge of the Statutory Probate Courts of the State of Texas

  • President of the National College of Probate Judge

  • Editor of the probate section of the Handbook for the Texas Judiciary (three times)

  • A member of the Texas Supreme Court Judicial Committee on Information Technology (1997-2016)

  • A Member of the Texas Supreme Court’s Probate Forms Task Force (2016-2022)

Judge King also serves as a mediator in probate, estate, and guardianship matters and is a co-author of West's Texas Practice Guide-Probate.

TCYLA is excited to sponsor our first craft table for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County at the annual We Care event, organized by WRG - A Certified Herman Miller Dealership.

We’ll be kicking off the tradition with pine cone crafts, helping kids make Christmas Trees and Reindeer ornaments! We need volunteers to staff the craft table.
