Law Day 2023

We had a great time at the Law Day Awards Luncheon on May 2, 2023, where we celebrated these fantastic award winners:

The Suitcase Project

TCYLA's President-elect, Elizabeth Haslem, spearheaded a project to raise funds to purchase duffel bags for children in foster care in Tarrant County. Through the TCYLA's Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser, and a grant from the TYLA, we were able to raise enough funds to purchase 148 new duffel bags for Tarrant County foster children! These duffel bags will be distributed directly to our foster children with the help of CASA of Tarrant County. This project was made possible in part by TYLA, TCYLA, and the participants and benefactors of the Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser. Thanks to everyone that made this possible!

TCYLA Summer Softball

Gateway Park Softball Fields
751 Beach St. Fort Worth, Texas 76111

Softball is back! Games are Monday nights between 7 - 9 pm. Special thanks to Prescher Law Firm, PLLC for sponsoring the two teams this Summer! While rosters are currently full, you are encouraged to reach out to John Easter for more information on future seasons and to come out and socialize with the teams.

Volunteer with TCYLA - Teen Court
Tuesdays | 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Fort Worth Municipal Court

1000 Throckmorton St., Fort Worth, TX 76102

Teen Court is a voluntary program that allows teens to perform community service and jury duty in lieu of paying fines for citations received from the City of Fort Worth. Successful completion of Teen Court results in dismissal of the citation and a clean record. Participants plead their case before a teen jury, the members of which then determine the appropriate community service hours to be performed within a three-month period.
TCYLA is encouraging its members to sign up to volunteer. Teen Court is in need of volunteers with

experience or training in the judicial/legal field to assist with training teen attorneys and to preside as judges for Teen Court hearings.

Apply to volunteer here. For questions, please reach out to John Easter.
