Please join us for TCYLA's upcoming CLE Luncheon at Reata as we welcome Richard Claywell presenting: “Business Valuations: Reliable Principles and Methods.” This presentation will be offered both in-person at Reata and simulcast to members who are either unable or not ready to attend in person, and the recording will be made available on the TCYLA website.

Mr. Claywell’s presentation is intended for lawyers and will address the methods and techniques of valuing business for use in legal matters. 

Mr. Claywell, CPA, ABV, ASA, CBA, ICVS, CVA, MAFF, CFD, ABAR, CVGA has built a reputation for integrity and for providing key solutions since 1985, for clients in the legal and business communities and private individuals. Volunteer with TCYLA at TAMU Law
Saturday, October 30-31, 2021

Texas A&M University School of Law is hosting the Texas Undergraduate Moot Court Competition on Saturday, October 30th and Sunday, October 31st. This competition will be entirely virtual.
Join TCYLA in volunteering to judge the competition rounds. TAMU Law is looking for 50 judges per round Saturday and 30-10 judges for the remaining rounds on Sunday. Judges will be given the case packet to review about a week in advance and each round takes an hour. Judges will need to sign in 30 minutes in advance for a training session.

TCYLA will be volunteering at the Tarrant Area Food Bank ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. The Tarrant Area Food Bank is seeking quality control volunteers this coming November. TCYLA's community involvement committee is organizing a group of on-site volunteers for Saturday November 20th to assist with sorting and boxing food items. Volunteers should be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift 30-40 pounds.

Slow-Pitch Softball League

TCYLA fall slow-pitch softball is underway! If you would like to come out and support the team (or play!), the upcoming games are as follows:
  • October 14 – 8:30 pm
  • October 21 – TBD depending on standings.
  • October 28 – TBD depending on standings.
  • November 4 – TBD depending on standings.
Adult beverages are permitted at game on a BYOB basis (please, no glass containers). Games last approximately one hour and all start times are subject to change based upon weather conditions and game delays. If you have any questions or would like to play, reach out to John Easter.
 
TCYLA practices safety protocols in accordance with state and local rules, including the requirement to self-screen for COVID symptoms before playing and maintaining 6-feet distance between players at all times. Masks are encouraged. Players assume all risks of injury or sickness
